Description:New York University (NYU) invites applications and nominations for the role of Associate Dean and Clinical Professor of the Jonathan M. Tisch Center for Hospitality and Tourism. This is an exceptional opportunity for an entrepreneurial and adept leader to continue to advance the Center's good work while expanding its reach and impact for students and in the hospitality and tourism fields more broadly.

The next Associate Dean will develop and implement a shared vision for the Tisch Center that will support its academic mission; lead and develop a faculty and staff of capable researchers, teachers, and practitioners; foster and grow connections to industry; and increase the Center's visibility and prominence on the global stage. This is an exciting time of ongoing transformation in the hospitality and tourism industries around the world. The Associate Dean will have an opportunity to help grow and develop new domestic and international program offerings to meet these changing needs. The Associate Dean will oversee a department of nine full-time faculty members, nearly 60 adjunct faculty, a dedicated staff of ten, and over 300 enrolled students.

Position: Tourism Brand Manager

Essential Functions: 

- Performs duties and responsibilities appropriate with assigned functional area which may include, but are not limited to, any combination of the following tasks:

- Providing support and project management for the HTA VP of Marketing and Product Development; overseeing assigned markets; planning and organizing tourism-related market research; and preparing current and long-range plans on matters concerning the development of targeted market areas for tourism in the State of Hawai‘i.

- The Tourism Brand Manager must provide efficient and effective project management; actively monitor the effectiveness of the marketing initiatives that are initiated by the HTA’s marketing partners who represent Hawai‘i; and analyze the HTA marketing partners’ strategies, with an understanding of current market trends as they relate to all industry stakeholders, including hotels, airlines, attractions, the retail industry, wholesalers, tour operators, and the visitor bureau Island Chapters; and participate in trade shows, familiarization tours, and industry stakeholders’ meetings.

- Actively participate in HTA board meetings and other industry-related meetings pertaining to the assigned market and in support of overall marketing efforts of the HTA; assist in research work, compilation of data, and preparation of necessary reports or paperwork; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Position: Academic Director and Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor

Description:The NYU School of Professional Studies seeks an Academic Director and Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor for the Jonathan M. Tisch Center for Hospitality and Tourism. This is a nine-month, one-year renewable faculty appointment, with a concurrent eleven-month administrative appointment.  The rank of the position is dependent upon experience and qualifications.

The successful candidate will be a committed educator, with evidence of significant contributions in higher education.   S/he will possess advanced academic and professional credentials (Master’s Degree required; Ph.D., or comparable advanced terminal degree highly preferred), and a minimum of five years of full-time university teaching experience in hospitality and tourism.  Administrative experience in higher education and direct experience working in the hospitality and tourism industry is highly preferred.
